I hope this new year is off to a great start for you and yours. I was going to write about ‘new beginnings and all of the resolutions’ we make at this time every year. However, just as I sat down at my desk to write, I read this amazing blog written by my good friend Ron Culberson. He says it much better than I ever could. I don’t know about you, but I’m going to take his advice!
Last week I was confirmed on a flight from Dallas to Atlanta…no big deal. I’ve flown this route about a zillion times over the years. I’m sure you’ve probably heard the old adage, “you have to go through Atlanta to get to heaven!” I’m not sure that’s theologically sound…but I digress…back on-point so I can actually get to the point!
My parents are safely settled into their new digs in Nashville, Tennessee…and as you can see from this pic, it looks like they are TOTALLY EMBRACING this new “path unwinding” in their CIRCLE OF LIFE.
They attended the GRAND OLE OPRY last night and watched their sons (the Gatlin Brothers) perform…SWEET!
At 3:22 PM on Tuesday, I received the text. A long-time family friend Nikki Mitchell passed away. She was 58 years old.
Our loss is heaven’s gain. Surely the angels flung open their wings and welcomed this amazing lady “home” after her valiant 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was one of a kind to say the least. How can I possibly convey to you the essence of Nikki Mitchell?
